Sedona Engagement Photography on a Fun Snow Day

Beth is my cousin. She has been in my life for as long as I can remember. Many miles have separated us at different times in our lives, but we always seem to reconnect.

After she meet Andy, I had a chance to meet him myself. I have a big family and when she brought him to one of our family holidays, everyone checked him out very carefully. I have two older brothers who are close to her also as well as my mom and dad.

He has a very easy demeanor about him and seems to really love Beth. I could not be happier for her.

My wife Amber and I have made it a point to see them on a regular basis not only over the holidays but having dinner with them.

When Beth and Andy got engaged, we discussed the wedding details over dinner one night and soon realized we needed to take engagement portraits.

We talked about different locations that I have photographed engagement portraits in the past.

I suggested taking a short weekend and spend parts of two days in Sedona which is about two hours north of Tempe.

We planned this trip a month in advanced and decided we would take a fun drive with the four of us starting on a Saturday afternoon up to Sedona, have a quiet dinner together and spend the night in Sedona so we would be refreshed for the next day engagement shoot.

Little did we know that mother nature decided to give us an added bonus a few days before we were to make our trip north.

A huge weather front moved through Arizona with a lot of moisture and blanked Sedona with near record snowfall.

The timing was perfect. The city and businesses had a chance to dig out from under this heavy snow by the time we showed up.

Some locations were hard to access, but we found plenty of spots to photograph from.

My wife shot video of me photographing Beth and Andy that we will put into a video presentation that will posted right here on my photography blog in the next couple of weeks.

Keep an eye out for it.

Beth and Andy are planning their wedding for November 17th at Ocotillo Golf Club in Chandler.

Hopefully it will not snow that day!!
