Family Fun in The Sun at Aquatic Center Photography in Chandler Arizona

At 106 degrees, it is hard to find any family things to do outside in the summer in Arizona.

I found a very fun water park that the City of Chandler has made available to its citizens.

Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center is located ¼ mile west of Val Vista Dr. and north side of Riggs Road in Chandler. It was very affordable.

I like to use the panoramic setting on my cell phone to show a much wider area for a much different perspective. I think it draws the viewer into to the visual story you are trying to tell.

To protect my cell phone I used a plastic housing that you can buy fairly cheaply. It allows me to shoot still images and video underwater and when there is a lot of splashing going on. I bought mine from Amazon for around $16 here: Waterproof Cell Phone Case

My son had turned 8 and we were looking for something fun that we could spend the day doing with family and friends to celebrate his special day.

We took full advantage of the facility. There was so much to do.

I think we used them all in the 5 hours we spent having fun.

I also set up a BIG shade overhang of my own in the artificial grass area that they provide for just that reason.

Good thing too because most of the shade areas were gone by the time we arrived at 10 am.

These next four photographs were taken on the rapid-fire sequence of my cell phone because I wanted to show action of my son Zeke as he dived off the diving board. Think of ways you could use your cell phone in this way to capture some very cool action in sports or other fast moving objects.

I am a professional photographer by trade so I wanted to capture many of the fun things we did on that day.

I also decided to use only my iPhone 6 cell phone to tell this visual story in both still photographs and video.

No matter what you type of image capture you use be it a DSLR or cell phone you are the family historian and those images will be something that you will share with each other for many years.
