One of the hidden gems for a wedding and reception in North Phoenix is a place called Boojum Tree Hidden Gardens. It is totally out of site from view even from the entry road even though it’s in a residential area. The location is right off the Piestewa Freeway (51) and just south of Bell road.
The Boojum Tree is a unique name for Phoenix’s most unique wedding/reception and party venue. From a ceremony on their Mexican plaza, to a stroll through the Tropical rainforest, or tea in a English garden, any occasion at Boojum Tree’s Hidden Gardens is an event to be remembered for a lifetime.
Photographing a wedding at this location the whole afternoon and evening was so much fun for this fun bride and groom I can hardly wait to go back. My second shooter at this wedding was my brother Shaun who has photographed many weddings over the years with me.

As you can see from the photographs that are posted here, the ceremony was located in a very lush hidden garden. The reception itself was located only a short walk away in a converted green house. What a great and fun place this was.
After the wedding and as the guests settled in for the reception Shaun and I photographed the portraits of the bride, groom, bridal party and parents. We took full advantage of the Mexican plaza and all the plant cover in the English Garden. We also captured some very romantic images of just the bride and groom.

One of the interesting things I get to do in this photography business is to learn about people. One way of doing that is to photograph an engagement portrait session with them a few months before the wedding itself. When we meet to do the shoot I find out all about the recent plans for the wedding itself and we talk about the time line and the venue.
Engagement portraits are an opportunity for me to get to know the couple before the wedding and it also gives them a chance to know me and my easy style of photography. We will not feel like we are such strangers on the big wedding day. It’s a fun enjoyable walk in the park that is very romantic.
I photographed the engagement portrait for this couple and did a blog post. To view it go here to Engagement Portrait at A Special Park in Tempe
